NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

1st floor, Mudhaliar Block
The Neonatal ICU at the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Egmore was started in 2014.
It has 25 beds that provide primary care for neonates with complications at birth and preterm infants.
Equipped with Neonatal Ventilators, Incubators, bedside ECHO and USG.
Advanced facilities include:
Inhaled Nitric Oxide (INO)
High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV)
Cerebral Function Monitor for Augmented EEG (CFM)
A special MNCU (Mother and Neonatal Care Unit) was established in November 2022 for joint mother-fetus care.
On average, NICU treats 2,450 patients per year (2021–2023).
