About Us
- The Literary and Quiz Society of MMC was born from a simple truth — that a medical college is more than lectures and wards; it is also a crucible for ideas, expression, and curiosity. Established in 2017, the society stands as a testament to MMC’s ever-growing quest for knowledge — to foster curiosity, spark conversation, and kindle exploration far beyond the pages of a textbook.
- Over the years, it has evolved into a vibrant constellation of clubs, each a unique star in our creative and intellectual galaxy: La Littératie, our creative writing hub where fiction, poetry, and free thought flourish; The Quiz Club, home to the relentlessly curious, where questions range from history to pop culture; La Eloquentia, where the art of debate, shipwreck, and extempore speaking is honed; and The Tortured Reader’s Society, a haven for book lovers who live a thousand lives through words. Our editorial arms — the MMC Blog and MMC Magazine — chronicle the heartbeat of our campus, capturing stories, voices, and moments that define our community.
- We exist to keep the flame of imagination alive — to question, to create, to connect. From high-voltage quizzes and fierce debates to treasure hunts, movie nights, poetry contests, and open mics, we turn ideas into experiences that engage both mind and heart. Here, fact meets fiction, rivalry breeds friendship, and every voice finds its echo.

La Litteratie
- La Literattie is a vibrant community where everyone with a penchant for ideas, a love of creativity and the thirst of knowledge is welcome. We have it all - fact and fiction.
- Our community hosts a variety of activities ranging from stretching writing muscles to lively discussions about anything that kindles the mind.
- We’ve host monthly creative writing contests called fictiverse which give students a platform to create stories and poetry that resonate deeply with them.
- We also host several online mini games like creation of literary memes, bookish habits analysis, and poetry challenges. These stimulate and relax at the same time.
- La Literattie’s heart lies in the conversations it stirs and the connections it creates.
Quiz Club
- Some people collect stamps, some collect coins — we collect questions. Questions that spark arguments in hostel corridors, that linger long after the bell, that make you smile in the middle of the night because you finally remembered the answer.
- We are the keepers of trivia, the cartographers of curiosity, and in our realm, your mind is your sharpest sword.

Every month, the campus comes alive with battles of wit and memory.
One day, you might be wielding Mjolnir in a Marvel Quiz; another day, time-travelling through our MMC History Quiz;
or laughing your way to victory in the Sitcom Quiz. - Some afternoons, the crack of the bat in the IPL Quiz echoes through the room, while others are drenched in stardust and lightsabers in our Science Fiction & Fantasy Movie Quiz.
- Monthly Digital Duels – The Realm Without BordersThe internet may separate us, but in our online coliseum, distance dissolves into pure competition. Take to the skies in our Aviation Quiz, march through centuries in the World History Quiz, summon your inner protagonist in the Anime Quiz, or weave spells in Wit & Wandlore harry potter quiz. And when the world unites for sport, so do we — the World Cup Quiz is where the legends are made.

Debate Club
- In La Eloquentia, battles are fought not with swords, but with words sharp enough to draw blood. Here, ideologies clash like titans — and sometimes, even the closest of friends stand on opposite sides of the field, locked in a duel of reason and rhetoric.
- Debates that test your logic, Shipwrecks that demand your wit, Adzaps that spark your creativity, Extempore that pushes your spontaneity, and Rise & Dive that teaches the rhythm of persuasion — each challenge seasons you, sharpens you, transforms you.
- This year, we set sail into uncharted waters with our very first Just A Minute (JAM) contest — sixty seconds where you must speak like a robot, absurdity and all, without breaking character. Nonsense never felt so clever.
- But beyond the competition, La Eloquentia is a stage where courage grows, confidence takes root, and laughter often follows the fiercest of battles. Here, every word matters, every pause has power, and every speaker leaves with more than they came for.

Book Club
- MMC’s book club is a community which recognizes the power of the written word and its ability to create an actual difference in society.
- We have monthly meetings where there are discussions on different genres of literature. We have a varied palette - from mythology to romance.
- Members gather and talk about the books that moved them, the characters that carved a place in their heart and the twists that had their minds racing. With fun games and the best people, the book club is a place where all opinions are welcome.
Model United Nations
- The La Eloquetia of Madras Medical College proudly presents our inaugural Model United Nations, marking a milestone in our institution’s tradition of fostering intellectual discourse
- Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country.
- We at MMC plan to host Model United Nations that span both medical and non medical topics. MUNs help students to stay in touch with global issues that plague us and think innovative solutions for pressing problems., leadership, and global awareness.

- The MMC Blog is platform where dormant journalist in every medical student rises from beneath the weight of textbooks and clinical schedules, to speak, to question, to dream.
- Our pages are alive with every shade of thought: from the lyrical rhythm of poetry to the raw honesty of personal struggles.
- Now, our vision has grown wings. What began as a humble blog has blossomed into a dynamic Newsletter Team, carrying the pulse of MMC far and wide. Within its columns, sports find their champions, politics their critics, history its witnesses, and every realm of human experience a voice.

- MMC magazine is a timeless tradition that gives you a taste of our college’s true essence bound in one book.
- The magazine features snippets of all the events conducted throughout the year, competitions won, and memories made. Experiences of everyone ranging from the heads of departments to the ever eager first year students are recorded.
- The creative writing section features the musings of our talented writers in the form of poetry, short stories, artwork and essays.
- Flipping through it will give you the adrenaline rush and racing recap of the entire year.

Movie Nights
The only thing better than watching a movie you love is watching it with people who love it as much as you do. From thought-provoking films like Eleven to the vivid worlds of anime, we have journeyed through stories that make you smile, ache, wonder, and dream.
Our movie screenings are simple affairs, yet they make sure you feel every emotion — and talk about it.
Open Mic
Twice a year, we throw open mic and magic happens — poets spill verses, debaters lock horns, confessions happen, and friends turn into philosophers.
Here, voices mingle without fear, laughter flows without judgement, and every word finds a home.
Treasure Hunts – The Triwizard Tournament
Once a year, the college transforms into a realm of riddles, maps, and magic. Undergraduates, postgraduates, and even faculty stand shoulder to shoulder, their fates sealed by the Sorting Hat as they join their Houses.
It’s not just about finding treasure — it’s about moving as one, each victory point lifting your House closer to glory. Rivalry is fierce, but bonds are fiercer. When the dust settles, only one House claims the crown.
